Current artist in Resident Chantal Rousseau and Darcy Tara McDiarmid will be hosting an open studio at KIAC Artist residency.
Chantal will be showing 2 to 3 animations in progress, projected in different locations in Macaulay House. The works are inspired by stories about birds, told to her by people she’s met in Dawson City during her residency, as well as by her own encounters with local wildlife. Attendees are invited to see some of the watercolours that form the animation cells, and Chantal will be happy to explain her working process for those interested.
Darcy Tara McDiarmid is a Han and Northern Tutchone artist. She is a professional carver, painter and illustrator.
