Wage: $22.44 per hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Arts Programming Assistant to join our dynamic team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of our artistic and cultural center while gaining valuable experience in arts administration, creative programming, and event coordination. The Arts Programming Assistant will support various KIAC programs and events including (but not limited to) our annual 4-day arts intensive Youth Art Enrichment, the ODD Gallery holiday artist market, exhibition openings and artist talks, fundraising events, and various art education and drop-in programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with KIAC Programs Manager to coordinate “Youth Art Enrichment” programming and various other art education programs
- Work closely with the ODD Gallery & Artist Residency Coordinator to coordinate the holiday artist market, prepare exhibition openings, artist talks, and other events
- Facilitate evening drop-in programs, providing access to supplies and equipment for pottery making, screenprinting, and dark room activities.
- Assist with other KIAC arts programming as needed.

Qualifications:
- Degree or certificate in visual, performing, media, or literary arts, arts administration, or a related field (Yukon SOVA foundation year included)
- are legally entitled to work in Canada (have a valid social insurance number);
- are between 16 and 30 years of age inclusively at the start of employment
- are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada (non-Canadians holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent resident status are not eligible)
- Prior event, art programming, or hospitality experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using digital tools such as iPad, Square, Facebook/Instagram, Google Suite, and graphic design software (Adobe or Canva) is desirable.
- Availability for evening and weekend work.
