ELISABETH BELLIVEAU | EVER SINCE LAST NOVEMBER
January 9 – February 10, 2003
Artist’s Talk: 7 pm
Opening Reception to Follow
Thursday January 9, 2003
“Through a physical process of folding and contorting, discarded winter apparel and sporting equipment, objects of function, sentiment and identity are transformed into creatures that would likely inhabit a wintery Canada. The creatures are pressed into box frames, which protect, isolate and possibly entrap the salvaged objects that have yet some potential.”
Excerpted from the Artist’s Statemen
The artist will also participate in KIAC’s Artist In Residence Program, for the dates of March 1 – May 30, 2003. The Residency Program provides Canadian and international artists the opportunity to research, develop and produce ongoing and new bodies of work with additional opportunities to provide outreach programs intended to promote interaction and stimulate professional development within the community.
