Natural Dye Workshop w/ Miriam Behman
In this full-day workshop, we learn the basics of natural dyeing on textiles. This course will cover how to “scour” fabrics (a technical term!), what mordant and fibers to use, how much plant material to gather for a successful dye bath, and safe handling of dyes. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have an introductory understanding of the process and should feel comfortable experimenting on their own. In addition, participants will come away with a variety of samples to take home for future reference.

Free Info Session: Yukon Permanent Art Collection
KIAC, Yukon Government and Friends of the Yukon Permanent Art Collection (FOYPAC) are hosting an info session about the Yukon Permanent Art Collection: what it is, when are the deadlines, who’s it for, and how to apply! The online presentation will be hosted by local artists Veronica Verkley and Cari Tangedal along with Garnet Muething, Art Curator at Yukon Government Tourism and Culture. The session will be followed by a Q & A.
