PART ONE: Podcasting 101 – What is a Podcast? Understanding the Tools of Creation, Distribution Platforms, Sound Editing Made Easy
In this practical and conversational session we will discuss podcasting from the following angles: developing your original concept for a podcast examining and using available tools to capture your voice and ideas in whatever form that you choose discussion of platforms for sharing your work ie WordPress, Soundcloud, Spotify, Stitcher, iTunes, etc… capturing and editing files using free open-source tools like Audacity
PART TWO: Podcasting 201 – Putting it All Together. How to Edit, Share, and Market Your Work, How to Grow Your Ideas and Audience Over Time
Here’s where the rubber meets the road. In this session we will walk through the practical steps of launching a podcast including: understanding file types, how to upload to your platform of choice, how to ensure that your work is able to be discovered on the web how to develop a repeatable process for content creation, distribution, and promotion discussions about various methods of marketing and promotion (including building an audience over time that also informs your work) how to use social media and other tools to support your podcast.
