UNE SOIRÉE À PARIS DU NORD
KIAC’s 5th Annual Wine Tasting event will be held in the KIAC ballroom on Friday, October 28th beginning at 7:00 pm (doors open @ 6:30).
An annual fundraiser, this event has become popular with locals and the licensees. Gail Calder, Vice President of KIAC said “There are many people in town who have an appreciation for fine wines and enjoy being able to try before they buy. We will feature wines from France, Chile, South Africa, Spain, New Zealand, Italy, USA and Canada.”
KIAC’s fundraiser follows the Whitehorse Rotary Club’s annual wine festival that will be held on October 20, 2016. At the Whitehorse event, twenty-three Canadian distributors will introduce over 200 wines from Canada and around the world. At the KIAC event, Dawson locals have a chance to try some of these wines before they hit the shelves at the Dawson liquor store.
KIAC’s event in 2016 will feature 8 red wines and 6 white wines. For the first time we will introduce a new Prosecco from Italy. The Bob Hilliard Ensemble will be providing live jazz.
Food pairings for the wines will be prepared by some of Dawson’s finest chefs. Tickets are now on sale at KIAC for $ 60 for five wine and food pairings. Additional tastings & pairings are priced at $ 5 each. There is also a $30 ticket for the “food and entertainment” only portion of the evening.
There will be games and prizes for the evening. New this year is a wine auction with wines sponsored by Authentic Wine & Spirit Merchants, Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, Stile Brands and Vino Allegro Wine Imports Inc.
Last year was a sell-out, with many disappointed people turned away at the door, so get your tickets early. Tickets can be purchased at the KIAC office or by calling 993-5005.
