Dustin Sheldon is Teslin Tlingit, born in Victoria of British Columbia and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon. Calm Rivers is his native name given to him by his great grandmother, he hopes you enjoy his works of art and the culture from which he draws his inspiration from. Gunal’chish.

Dustin will use his time during his residency to tap into a new carving style he developed that captures the landscape in a First Nation way and create designs around the Moosehide Slide and other landscapes in and around Dawson City. These designs will be used to create a landscape carving of Dawson City that have the potential to be turned into a painting or digitized print at a future date. You can see samples of his formline landscapes in the painting he painted exhibited in his photo.
