Yasmine Renaud

March 1 – 30, 2025
Dawson City, YT

Yasmine Renaud is a French-Canadian cultural producer, arts administrator, and filmmaker based in Dawson City, Yukon Territory. A theatre kid, spreadsheet enthusiast, and community organizer, Yasmine is currently focused on capacity building and telling local stories. Ice Queens is the first project to be developed under her company Direct Light Productions.

As a filmmaker and cultural producer from Dawson City, Yukon, Yasmine’s work is rooted in a sense of place, shaped by the ethos of northerners and the relentless beauty of the north. After producing for both the stage and the screen in Scotland, Yasmine’s returned home to make Ice Queens, a documentary that celebrates the resilience, spirit of collaboration, and local pride that Dawson City seems to instill in everyone who toughs out more than a couple of winters here.

During this stage of production, Yas will be developing, expanding, and refining all elements of my project including producing a treatment and teaser trailer, researching historical and cultural contexts, identifying my audience, and preparing for production.
