Dawson City Arts Society (DCAS) is a community organization created in 1998 to enrich the quality of life in the Yukon through the enhancement of arts, culture and the economy. DCAS is a governing partner in the Yukon School and Visual Arts (alongside Yukon University and Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in) and the Klondike Development Organization. Its operating arm is the Klondike Institute of Arts and Culture.
Registering for the AGM will allow us to plan accordingly, send out reminders with links, meeting packages and annual reports. (Help us save paper!)
You do NOT have to register to attend, but you DO have to be nominated to the board of directors at least 7 days prior.
By attending the Annual General Meeting, you will hear from KIAC directors and staff about DCAS’ activities, review financial statements, and elect the 2022-23 Board of Directors.
NOTE: There WILL NOT be Residency and Gallery Selections Committee elected at this AGM. We are restructuring our committees to better coincide with our operations. If you are interested in participating in one of our committees, register, then please read on!

The Dawson City Arts Society is accepting nominations to the 2022-23 Board of Directors and committees! To respect capacity of individuals and to foster mentorship and knowledge, we are restructuring our board and committee structures.

We will be contacting nominees to provide information and answer questions about serving on the Board Of Directors or committees prior to the AGM.
What is the Board of Directors?
The Board of Directors is governance board is ultimately responsible for the financial health, governance, and infrastructure of the organization. Formal board of director meetings are held 6 times a year, every other month. Board members are also expected to lead a committee.
What are committees?
Committees will be formed by the board to carry out activities, are the “hands on” who will focus on specific projects, programs, and initiatives.
Serving on a committee is a great way to get involved in the organization! Committees include: ODD Gallery and Artists Residency Selections, Fundraising & Development, Finance, Community Wellness, MacAulay House Artist-in-Residency, Communications & Marketing, Facility, and more as projects require.
