Hand Embroidery Basics

Back by popular demand! This workshop focuses on a basic exploration of hand embroidery with a focus on learning by doing. Participants will learn and practice basic stitches by creating a hooped wall hanging. Starting with a general exploration of hand embroidery styles and possibilities, we will move into pattern, colour and fabric choices, pattern-making and tracing and basic embroidery techniques and stitches. The goal will be to spend our time with as much hands-on learning as possible with the creation of a hooped piece of work.
