Studio Visit with Darcy Tara McDiarmid

Join current SOVA/KIAC artist in resident Darcy Tara McDiarmid at Macaulay House to see some of her work and to chat with her about her process.

Darcy Tara McDiarmid is a Han and Northern Tutchone artist from the crow clan. 

Darcy draws inspiration from nature, trying to capture the pristine beauty of our natural world. 

She believes in honouring her ancestors by devoting her art to heritage and culture and the reclamation of traditional practices. 

She is a painter,  carver and willow basket maker. 

The theme of Darcy’s residency is ๐‘ƒ๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘™ ๐‘€๐‘ฆ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘”๐‘–๐‘’๐‘  and her focus will be on amulets and artifacts.
