SUMMARY:Dawson Film Lab applications open: Deadline July 15
DESCRIPTION:An exclusive opportunity to work in Super 8\, 16 or 35mm film in a workshop environment from \nSeptember 13-27 at the Klondike Institute of Art and Culture. \nThe focus is on analogue film processes (8mm and 16mm)\, and involves  the use of eco-safe developers using local plants and/or caffeine. Participants can also work with cameraless filmmaking\, scratching or painting directly onto 16 or 35mm film. \nA Phytogram (sustainable\, camera-less photographic technique that creates images by reacting the natural chemical properties of plants with 16mm film under sunlight) workshop included. \nParticipants can work at their own pace (and times) and will have access to the KIAC Darkroom/Ballroom during the dates of the workshop (September 13-27). \nThere are limited spots available. Applicants must apply \nCost is $100 and includes 4 rolls of film and all materials and cameras.\nThere are scholarships available for the underfunded.  \nFor more info and application form check out www.dawsonfilmfest.com \nDeadline to apply is July 15\, 2026. \nOpen to all levels of artists. SUMMARY:Dawson City Honky Tonk Music Camp
DESCRIPTION:Dawson City Honky Tonk Music Camp is a three day immersive Old Time\, Country & Bluegrass music camp. The camp will be held August 5-7 with workshops for beginners to intermediate musicians. There will be 3 periods of 3 workshops to choose from (9 total) everyday from 2-6pm. Camp goers will have the choice of attending the same workshops every day\, or trying something new each day!  \nThe format of this camp is intended to create an inclusive space where everyone feels safe and welcome\, and where community and learning is at the heart of it all.  \nRegistration and Payment:\nThere are two steps to register for this camp. Step one is to fill out our google form to tell us more about yourself and what parts of the camp you are interesed in. Step two is to pay for the package that works best for you! \n \nStep one: Register for the festival here \nStep Two: Pay for workshops packages here \nCosts: \n\n\n\n$350 – for music camp + food\n$200 – music camp (no food)\n$125 – single day rate + food\n$75 – single day rate (no food)\n\n\n\nFolks can attend any workshop they want\, and can change each day if they like. \nFood:\nIf you have choosen to opt for music camp + food\, lunch and dinner will be provided and served at the Anglican Church in town.\nLunch will be from 12:45-2pm and Dinner from 6:30-8pm\nNote your allergies or dietary restrictions in the registration form or email dawsoncityhonkytonk@gmail.com\n\n\n\nCamping/Accomodations:\nCamp sites at Gold rush campround have been reserved for camp goers.
