DESCRIPTION:Date & Time: Thursday\, October 1st at 7 PM – 10 PM\nGallery Hours: Tuesdays – Fridays: 10 AM – 5 PM & Saturdays: 12 PM – 4 PM\nLocation: ODD Gallery\, Dënäkär Zho |  KIAC\nIndigenous Territory: Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in territory\, Dawson City\, Yukon \nJoin us at the ODD Gallery for the opening reception of Threading through Time: Stories of Migration and Resilience\, a solo exhibition by Indian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist Par Nair. \nThrough hand embroidery\, textile-based installation\, and creative writing\, Nair explores the connections between migration\, memory\, cultural heritage\, and belonging. Drawing from South Indian textiles and ancestral practices\, her work honours the women who came before her while imagining diasporic futures shaped by care\, resilience\, and resistance. \nWith deeply personal storytelling and labour-intensive textile practices\, Threading through Time invites us to consider how cultural traditions carry memories across generations\, how displaced identities adapt and survive\, and how creative practices can become tools for healing and imagining new possibilities. \nCome celebrate the opening of this thoughtful and intimate exhibition with us at the ODD Gallery. Everyone is welcome! \n\nAbout the Artist\nPar Nair (she/her) is an Indian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist and educator living and working in the Greater Toronto Area. Her practice explores lived experiences of diaspora through decolonial methods and a return to ancestral practices\, working across painting\, hand embroidery\, installation\, and creative writing. \nPar holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from OCAD University and has exhibited nationally and internationally\, including at the Textile Museum of Canada\, Craft Ontario\, the Kochi Biennale\, and Nuit Blanche. She currently teaches drawing\, painting\, and critical theory at OCAD University and facilitates painting and hand embroidery workshops in collaboration with libraries and art institutions. \nThis exhibition is made possible through the generous support of our funders and community supporters. \n
