Eden Robinson & Trish Salah: Readings at the KIAC Ballroom

Eden Robinson is a novelist and short fiction writer from the Haisla and Heiltsuk First Nations. Her debut collection of stories, Traplines, won Britain’s Winifred Holtby Prize in 1997. Her first novel, Monkey Beach, which combines contemporary realism with Haisla mysticism, was shortlisted for the Giller Prize and a Governor General’s Literary Award, and received the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. Her 2017 novel, Son of a Trickster, the first volume in a projected trilogy, was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. Her latest work is Trickster Drift.
Born in Halifax, Trish Salah is the author of Wanting in Arabic, a Lambda Literary Award winning poetry collection, and of Lyric Sexology, Vol. 1. Her writing appears in recent issues of Anomaly, Cordite Poetry Review, Prism International and in the collections,Meanwhile, Elsewhere: Science Fiction and Fantasy from Transgender Writers and Current Critical Debates in the Field of Transsexual Studies. She is associate professor of Gender Studies at Queen’s University.
