SUMMARY:Writing workshop: The Truth Doesn’t Have to Hurt with Emelia Symington-Fedy
DESCRIPTION:Writing workshop\nat the Yukon School of Visual Arts Library (2nd floor)\nMon\, Nov 25 at 5:30pm \nRegistration by donation\n*KIAC website or office.\nPlease register by filling out the form below. \n— \nScared to tell the whole truth? Is it even your truth to tell? Emelia had to grapple with these questions in her memoir ’Skid Dogs’ as the people she’s speaking about are alive and she bumps into them at the grocery store. \nIn the writing\, Emelia surprised herself. Sometimes telling the truth isn’t the smartest or bravest choice. There’s a more evocative option. \nQ&A session and writing workshop about brutal honesty\, responsibility and conscience when telling your story. We will discuss each attendees personal concerns. We will practice together. Bring writing implements. \n— \nEmelia Symington-Fedy grew up in Armstrong\, BC. She has worked as an essayist\, storyteller and documentary producer for CBC Radio and is the co-artistic director of The Chop Theatre. She is the creator of the popular blog and radio show that became an audiobook\, Trying to Be Good: The Healing Powers of Lying\, Cheating\, Stealing\, and Drugs (Author’s Republic\, 2017). After living an urban life for many years\, Symington-Fedy and her family are now enjoying life back in Armstrong\, on their rural property near a lake. \n— \nThanks to the BC & Yukon Book Prizes\, Yukon Words\, and Canada Council for the Arts \nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Name *FirstLastPhone *Email *Age *Under 1616-1819+PronounsHe/HimShe/HerThey/ThemOther *please let us know in the comment section below \n or Name Age\n \n \n Comment or MessageSubmit
