After  realizing he only has a short time left and concluding his job is absurd\, Kanji’s search for meaning reconnects him to the life he sacrificed for work. After years of stagnation\, the rediscovery and resurgence of his soul is unforgettable cinema and the ultimate memento mori. \nIkiru (Japanese – ‘to live”) is Akira Kurosawa’s answer to his existential musing about what it all really means. Considered by many to be his greatest (Samurai-free!) film\, this masterful study of life and afterlife is profoundly moving and relatable.
