Jesse Mitchell & Valerie Salez
April 2007. Still snow outside. Winter was endless and dark. Getting a jump start on spring means a fresh coat of paint. Jesse painted every surface with Pineapple Yellow while I was at work. A surprise. Upon returning home I was instantly overwhelmed by the vibrating yellow walls and cupboards. It was all too sunny too fast. Unexpectedly I freaked and trampled all over Jesse’s hard work. I just could not understand how he could not see the wrongness of this paticular shade of Yellow. This triptych represents the mood that followed. Defeated by Pineapple Yellow at the end of winter and beginning of spring.
