*Palace Grand Summer Season Producer/Developer*

Dawson City Arts Society seeks a dynamic and highly motivated individual to produce and promote a summer season of performances in the iconic Palace Grand Theatre in Dawson City. This is the second year of a pilot project.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate with performers, agents or producers to organize logistics for the season.
  • Develop marketing materials for the season and implement marketing plan.
  • Prepare performer contracts.
  • Manage sponsorship relations, ensuring coordination of sponsor benefits.
  • Manage revenues from sponsorship, advertising and ticket sales.
  • Undertake fundraising events.
  • Manage relationships with partners, sponsors, suppliers, performers, staff.
  • Recruit and supervise technical and front of house staff to assist with equipment requirements, ticket sales, concession and volunteer management.
  • Utilize information gathered in Palace Grand research conducted this year by DCAS to inform activities.
  • Facilitating client and audience feedback to gauge success of season performances.  Consolidate and report results to funders.
Essential qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for theatre, music and the arts.
  • Solid administrative and project management skills.
  • General knowledge of the technical aspects of theatre and music productions.
  • Experience coordinating events and managing volunteers.
  • Marketing/promotion skills and experience.
  • Financial administration.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to use Excel spreadsheets and other office software.
  • Willingness and ability to seek and obtain sponsorships.
  • Research and reporting skills and experience.
Duration: May 20 to August 22, 2014
40 hours a week, ability to work outside of normal office hours.
Wage range:
$25 to $30 an hour, depending on qualifications

*Youth Programs Coordinator/Instructor*

The Coordinator/Instructor works under the direction of KIAC Programs Coordinator, subject to the authority of the Executive Director, to organize and instruct KIAC’s 6 week Summer Youth Art Camp and to plan youth activities for the Yukon Riverside Arts Festival.


The successful candidate must be a student or youth as defined by the Yukon Summer Career Placement Program.

Interested candidates should have some post-secondary education, experience instructing youth, a background in art, and excellent communication and organizational skills. 

Duration: 13 weeks, 35 hours a week from June 2 to August 29
Wage: $15 an hour
