Join us in celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Yukon Riverside Arts
Festival, an annual KIAC summer event and a part of Dawson City's Discovery
Days celebrations. Unfolding over the course of four days, from August
12th to 15th, 2010, the festival takes place on the parkland adjacent
to the mighty Yukon River, and hosts participating artists from across
the Yukon and the North. This year’s festival promises to be a true
celebration of art and community! We are really excited to see you there.
This year, KIAC is welcoming over thirty participating artists, making
for a jam-packed schedule with creative programming for everyone. Once
again, the Arts Festival is pleased to present arts-specific programming
including our popular Gallery Hop, workshop series,
the Natural and the Manufactured project, Picturing
the Yukon Film Night, artist talks, a Pecha Kucha night, and much more.
We are proud to present a wide array of media this year, including wood
carving, antler carving, stone carving, installation art, social practice
art, video installation, bead working, glassmaking, puppet shadows, sculpture,
traditional songs, bead making, mosaic work, dance, theatre, painting,
printmaking, traditional textiles techniques, performance art, jewelry
making, sewn portraits, photography and lots more.
Come shop for Northern Canadian art pieces in our Art Fair tents, open
on Festival grounds from 1-6 on Friday, 10-5 on Saturday, and 10-4 on
Sunday. Interact with our artists as they seek to share their skills and
talents with you over the duration of the Festival. Or come on by simply
to chat, or listen to our live music every afternoon… As we celebrate
our tenth anniversary, we are gearing up for a memorable art event! See
you down by the riverside.
The KIAC team
KIAC would like to thank the many artists,
volunteers, sponsors and businesses who contributed to making the Yukon
Riverside Art Festival such an enjoyable event!
